He sold me a pup 4 years ago that my vet stated, was "extremely emaciated, and not of pet quality", she was on the verge of death. Mike requested I take the dog to his vet, and stated he would pay me back for the visit to my vet and his vet. His vet confirmed everything my vet stated. I relayed this information to Mike, he stated, "ok, well we will just euthinize her and I will give you another pet quality dog from the next litter." When confronted with the question of why he allowed Rexy to get in such a bad state, he replied that he will not step in and special feed a weak puppy. If it dies because it cannot get to the food, that is naure's way. I have tried to contact him many times to try to get my money. He avoided me. He is a horrible person and a worse breeder. I would suggest that he be taken off the list at this site and that no-one use him as their breeder as there are many very professional breeders in the area.

I have been really surprised at all the information I have been reading on the "going on's" with Burgwald Kennels and the Burgwalds in general. So I write this without being able to give the Offical Name, Dam Sire and all that (but I will follow-up once I get home to look at our dogs papers)
My husband set out for over a year or more to find another bit bull and came across the Cane Corso. I was not sold. But the more investigating I did on the breed and double the effort I did for the breeder. Hence, NICCO, which means victory, was purcahsed. We have not had any issues or problems since our purchase in 2003. When we took him to the vet he was examed, x-rayed (because of what I READ about the breeds hip issues) he received an impressive report. Just for GP, we took him to Burgwalds vet and he was even more impressed and called Mike to ask him why did he sell that dog. NICCO did not like the dog food we were giving him, Burgwald kennel made sure we got the dog food he was feeding his dogs, where to get and made sure a discount was received because it was from his breed (and the dog food was extremely expensive). When it was time for his shots and check up, Burgwald kennels took care to the first initial bill.
We did not get our dog for show purposes but for family love of dogs and protection. But we have been asked and stoped by many people about our dog. I did not realize how popular and sought after this breed was.
I am so sorry to hear and surprised at the issues that people are encountering. But we are a statisfied buyer and would go back to Burgwald Kennels (if we could find them).
